A young girl enjoys getting a new style at the hair cut event.

We believe in the adage “Look good, feel good, do good!”

That’s why local barbers, firefighters and others join us each year to give over 300 kids free haircuts so they’re looking and feeling great for the first day of school. Our community partners help us make it a fun day with face painting, clowns and more!

The Buzz About Barbershops

The barbershop is a cornerstone of community—a familiar and welcoming place where folks can chew the fat while getting a great cut and shave. Once a year, barbers throughout our community pack up their clippers, tonics and neck powders to set-up a make-shift barbershop at Gum Springs Recreation Center. During our Kids' Cuts event, local kids enjoy the tradition of barbershops, hear interesting stories and walk away with a swagger in their step.
