About Willie F. Bailey, President

Willie F. Bailey has dedicated his life to fighting for families and children in need.

Bailey graduated from T. C. Williams High School in 1983 and later served in the United States Army, retiring with over 21 years of service. He has been an active firefighter for over 27 years and is currently the Deputy Chief of the Health, Safety and Wellness Division of the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department.

In 1998, Bailey founded Firefighters and Friends to the Rescue to meet a growing need in the community for holiday gifts, winter coats and school supplies. Today, he continues to serve as President.

Bailey sits on the Board of Directors for several non-profit organizations including Operation Warm, the largest nonprofit coat distributer in the country. He also served as an Alexandria City Councilman. As a community advocate, he is a strong voice for the voiceless and works tirelessly to address tough issue such as affordable housing and education.

Bailey is a single-father of two grown children and resides in Alexandria, VA.
